The Civil Gators were formed on July 1st, 2007. The Civil Gators serve as a group of alumni and friends of the University of Florida Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering. UF CCE alumnus Albert E. O’Neall, 100 years’ young, was named the honorary first member of the club. Civil Gators have several regional activities committees throughout Florida, and also support the Annual Homecoming BBQ.

The mission of the Civil Gators is to foster and enhance the relationship between the UF CCE department, its alumni and friends, and to support CCE’s mission of teaching, research and service.

The major goals/objectives of the Civil Gators are:
• Share the Great Gator Spirit
• Fellowship of Alumni/Friends
• Social Interaction
• Communication of Information (industry news, trends, employment)
• Educational Benefits (job experiences, seminars, lecturers)
• Fundraising to Benefit the UF CCE department.
